Rating
I'm an avid cook so when I got this set as a wedding gift almost 8 years ago I was thrilled. They have been a joy to use. Not only did they perform perfectly but they are also a very good looking set. They have been mostly used by me but other household members also. I mention this because not everyone is aware of how to care for them. I have always taken good care of them but have caught others abusing them eg. use metal untensils, hand blenders, or put them in the dish washer. So with some occasional mild abuse and after 8 yrs., the interior of 3 of the 5 pans/pot has started to flake and peel.

Caphalon has said that their hard anodized nonstick cook ware has a life span of 10 yrs. I think under these conditions the brand has lived up to their name. I am now in the market for a new set, I will be purchasing Calphalon again because I am happy with the quality of their product!

I have bought caphalon pots and pans over the years and found them to be high quality. This grill pan is too light--no heft. It stains on the nonstick coating very easily. This is a good size but needs more work to be a quality grill pan.
Definitely NOT worth the price.
For about $25.00 it would be worth it!

Love this pan. I bought it because of the reviews and I was not disappointed. I made some mini-cupcakes (Bibingka) in this and every single one of them popped right out of the pan. I didn't need to spray it or grease the pan at all. Clean up was a breeze. Just took a damp warm paper towel and wiped all the spillage off.

The mini-cupcakes cooked evenly and the pan cooled very quickly between batch refills so I got the same consistency with the next batches (no dealing with overcooked cupcakes on the next batch because the pan retained heat).

I would highly recommend this pan!! Unleash your baking awesomeness!

I'm crazy about soup, but generally I only make it for myself. I've looked and looked for a sturdy smaller soup pot. This fits the bill perfectly. I can make enough soup for two or three very generous main-course servings. It makes more than enough for four or five first-course servings if I have guests. In addition to its practical side, this pot is so darned cute that I keep it on top of my stove. Definitely recommended. I have bought several Calphalon Unison items, and they all are wonderful.

I am reducing my kitchen clutter to the essentials and getting rid of old pans. I use this pan and the wok (also Unison) constantly. I am hoping the non stick is safe and healthy. So far, they have both been satisfying to cook with.

I love Calphalon products because the quality is usually top notch. These lived up to that expectation. All the tools are very strong and I think will last for years. The wooden spoons are some of the strongest I've ever seen. My favorite part is that the stainless container can hold another 6-10 items so you could fit the remainder of your tools in it as well.

Rating
I've had this grill pan for about 5 months now, and I use it regularly (a few times a week). It's awesome!

It's such a time saver, since I can grill right on the stove without having to start up the outdoor grill. This is especially true if I only need to grill up a few pieces of meat or make a quick grilled cheese sandwich or if there's a thunderstorm outside and I really want to make a burger...I heat up the pan, do what I need, and that's it. Coming from a guy who loves to BBQ and grill, the only thing you'll miss is (obviously) the smoky flavor (nothing a little liquid smoke can't fix), but you'll get everything else-- the sear, the char, and the grill marks.

The easy cleaning is probably what won me over. 8 out of 10 times, I just let the pan cool naturally on the stove, and then come back later in the night to wipe clean with a paper towel and then rinse under warm water by hand/soft sponge with a little bit of dish soap. A handful of times when there's a lot of char and gunk on it when I'm done, I've let it cool down and fill it up with water to let it sit in water. That way, it softens up all the burnt pieces and makes for easier paper towel wiping & hand rinsing later on.

Highly recommended!

I mean, I like my flapjacks big just as much as the next guy, but if your griddles or pans aren't of the jumbo variety, this thing will dwarf most food you cook in an almost hilarious way.

Great for serving loose kinds of food, like french fries or chicken nuggets that're too hot to handle with your fingers or too small to use a fork on, not so great for delicate flipping of smaller food items crabcakes or silver dollar pancakes.

It's up to you how useful or pointless this thing will be. Make a lot of tiny foods? It might sit around for awhile. Make a lot of giant grub? The sturdy craftsmanship and smooth, high quality, almost geometrically sound flipping base will get plenty of use in any kitchen lucky enough to own one.

This is an expensive pan but it is so functional, durable and elegant that I didn't mind paying the price. I recommend it to any lover of gourmet food and beautiful design. Just make sure you treat it with the care that a non-stick requires and you will be able to love it and use it for many years to come.
